Petrella and Mixed Influence

Imagine Tina Turner singing Country music.  Now, stretch that image to imagine a voice that goes beyond this by blending roots, soul and R&B into a fresh, intuitive and well-written country music..that is Petrella.  In the whole world of Country and Soul, there are plenty of acts that sell hundreds of thousands (even millions) of units; but there is none that blend pure soul with country as well as Petrella.  Dubbed "a true vocal power house who will lead you to believe that every song is sung by a completely different person" by Matt Yeager of the Morning News, Petrella's style melds hints of Aretha Franklin, Patsy Cline, Macy Gray and - yes - Tina Turner into a beautiful, versatile sound all her own.

Petrella began her career as a singer/songwriter 25 years ago by creating a fusion of rhythm & blues and country music called Country-Soul.  This inventive new sound landed Petrella on the Cover of Cash Box magazine and produced 5 singles that made it to the top 100 on the Country Music Charts with her latest single from the 100 Proof Woman CD going to Number 15 on the Billboard Hot Country single sales chart.  Petrella has performed on the Ernest Tubbs Midnight Jamboree radio show, has opened for Gladys Knight and has six nationally distributed CDs.
